Keystone Testing: May 15 - 22
Shaler Area High School will be administering the Keystones Exams to students in grades 9-11 from May 15 - May 22. Letters were mailed home to students who are scheduled to take an exam/s. Here is the exam schedule:

Algebra 1 Keystone - May 15 & 16
Literature Keystone - May 17 & 20
Biology Keystone - May 21 & 22

On testing days, the school buses will run on the normal schedule; however, the first two hours of school will be devoted to testing. Students NOT testing who arrive to school prior to 9:14 AM will report to the auditorium until classes begin at 9:14 AM. Any student who is NOT testing and is able to provide their own transportation to school may report to school at 9:14 AM. Parking on school property is limited to students who have previously secured parking passes.

Band Front Tryouts

Try-out information for the 2024-2025 color guard, dance team, and majorettes is now available for pick up in the Activities Office. The first of three practices will be held on Thursday, May 15th with try-outs taking place on Tuesday, May 21st. See Ms. Rihn (Room 220) or Mrs. Butler (Room 222) if you have any questions.

Class of 2024 - Senior Bulletins

We are excited to announce the second edition of the Shaler Area High School Senior Bulletin has arrived! Seniors and their families will receive the Senior Bulletin on or near the 24th of each month giving updates about happenings and events for the Class of 2024. Flexible Instructional Days (FID)

Shaler Area High School will utilize Flexible Instructional Days (FID) in place of unexpected, emergency school closures to eliminate the need to make-up that day. Specifically, we will use these days in place of cancellations for inclement weather. If the district decides to cancel in-person instruction, all students will participate in remote instruction through their district-issued device. Student Parking Information

The 2023-2024 student parking application is available under the "Quick Links" section. Eligible juniors and seniors wishing to drive to and park on campus MUST secure a parking pass before driving to school. ALL campus parking (including Matulevic Field) is by permit only. Permit applications will be accepted in the High School Activities Office on Tuesdays and Fridays during the regular school day (6:45 AM - 2:45 PM). There is a $45 nonrefundable permit for all full year passes. The permit fee is prorated as the year progresses - $30 after November 22 and $15 after February 29. Please call the High School Activities Office ext. 1530 with any questions.

2023-2024: Grade Level Google Classrooms

All students are encouraged to join their grade-level Google Classrooms for the 2023-2024 school year. These forums will be used to send out important information, reminders, and announcements specific to students in each grade level throughout the year. Notice: District's charged meal policy

Shaler Area School District updated its School Lunch/Breakfast Program — Charged Meal Policy (No. 808.1) to establish fair and consistent rules regarding charges, allow the food service department to collect monies due for meal service provided, and build positive and clear communication between the food service, district staff, and community regarding these guidelines.
